[8-6] On the south side of the mountain, it is as well a short way to the Trysil Golf Course from most of the cabins and apartments. [8-7] The standard is high in our lodging units. [8-8] Should you wish a real luxury vacation with both a sauna and a whirlpool bath at a cabin, then we have that as well. [8-9] For those who prefer hotels for spending vacations, then Trysil has several hotels to choose among. [8-10] They are clustered in the central area and can of course offer everything from made-up beds to a set breakfast table to good restaurants with full licensing. [8-11] In the area around Molde, Trollstigen and Atlanterhavsvegen, you find a broad selection of overnight lodgings. [8-12] Everything from luxury hotels to rustic seashore cabins, comfortable guest houses, and a myriad of cabins, vacation houses, fisherman's shacks, and camping sites. [8-13] All hotels offer weekend prices year-round, with breakfast included. [8-14] At Fosen, you can stay in splendid fisherman's shacks and boathouses just at the water's edge. [8-15] Otherwise, there are many other overnight lodgings: hotels, apartments, and cabins, both in the mountains and at seaside. [8-16] For those who come by car, there are several campgrounds to choose among. [8-17] Hence, something for all tastes! [8-18] 604 meters over Lysefjorden hangs this marked mountain formation. [8-19] For nearly 100 years, people have hiked there, felt giddiness at the precipice and enjoyed the fantastic panorama of Lysefjorden and the surrounding mountains. [8-20] In 2001, 9000 people crested Preikestolen - and they came from many countries. [8-21] The hike from the parking places out to the Preikestol plateau itself is just 4 kilometers, but nonetheless it takes 2 hours each way. [8-22] The fine trail was built in the best Norwegian tradition. [8-23] The hike has an elevation difference of 350 meters and requires some fitness and good footwear. [8-24] The last part goes along a dizzying cliff high over Lysefjorden. [8-25] The weather can change rapidly, so remember rainwear, warm cloths, food and drink in your pack. [8-26] But the experience is worth the effort, almost regardless of the weather! [8-27] Centrally placed in the heart of Scandinavia lies Trysil. [8-28] 210 km from Oslo, 470 km from Stockholm, and 50 km from Göteborg. [8-29] You drive on good roads to Trysil, well signposted and without having to go over mountain passes. [8-30] Filling stations and rest stops are frequent. [8-31] Trysil lies a short way from an airport, places of arrival for ferries, main rail stations, and bus stations. [8-32] Oslo Gardermoen Airport lies just 160 km away. [8-33] Several times a day there are busses from the airport to Trysil. [8-34] The Trysil Express has a stop right outside the arrivals hall and takes you to Trysil in 2 hours and 50 minutes. [8-35] If you come by bus or train to Oslo, it's extremely easy to travel onward to Trysil. [8-36] From Galleriet bus station, the Trysil Express has several daily departures. [8-37] Ferries, airplanes, trains, busses or cars - the ski paradise is only a few hours away. [8-38] Molde and Åndalsnes have an ample selection of eating places, bars, pubs, and discos with dancing. [8-39] Both Norwegian and international dishes are on menus. [8-40] The small fishing village of Bud has three restaurants that serve fresh fish and tantalizing seafood. [8-41] Along roads there are various food services for travelers - everything from simple cafes to acceptable restaurants with comprehensive menus. [8-42] Fosen can offer many attractive and fascinating kitchens. [8-43] With its long history, Fosen can offer many sights and activities associated with them. [8-44] In the region as a whole there is a varied selection of shops and shopping centers. [8-45] Most are open Monday to Saturday and are closed on Sunday. [8-46] You can buy locally-produced souvenirs at many galleries and handicraft shops in the region. [8-47] The most popular souvenirs are knitted sweaters and jackets, pewter, silver, porcelain, hand-painted or rose-painted wood objects, goat and reindeer hides, woven tapestries, furs, needlework, glass, crystal and ceramics. [8-48] The outdoors itself is an attraction at Fossen - and not just for viewing. [8-49] The sounds, smells, and tastes from the sea and the mountains also are generous to those attuned to receiving and experiencing. [8-50] Fosen also can exhibit some of the oldest traces of people in Norway, in fact more than 11,000 years old. [8-51] Rock carvings, caves, runes, burial mounds and monuments. [8-52] From Molde's airport, Årø, flights depart to Norway's major cities several times a day. [8-53] Northbound and southbound Coastal Express Liners call at Molde center every day, and both trains on the Rauma line and bus companies take you to Trondheim or Oslo.
